We define community wellness as "...a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." - The World Health Organization.

Our Vision for the Municipality of Anchorage
Imagine an Anchorage where residents needs are met in an equitable way. Where residents don't just survive but thrive and contribute to a more vibrate and inclusive community. Below are three guiding principles, I commit to utilizing that can move Anchorage forward toward a community of wellness for all residents.
1. Guiding Principle: Wellness Framework - Wellness requires moving beyond treating the symptoms of problems, but instead solving the problems. Some problems will perpetually exist, but if we can create safety nets to make those problems brief and one time, we can move toward physical, mental and social well being for all of the Municipality's residents.
2. Guiding Principle: Racial and Economic Equality and Equity - Wellness is not possible without racial and economic equality and equity, yet policy and appropriation decisions are often made without specific consideration of these key principles and instead its business as usual. We must disrupt this pattern and bring racial and economic equity to the forefront of all decisions being made.
3. Guiding Principle: Regenerative Municipal Resources - Scarcity of resources often pit interests of residents against one another. How can we look at our existing resources and leverage them to be regenerative. "Regenerative" describes processes that restore, renew or revitalize their own sources of energy and materials. Regenerative design uses whole systems thinking to create resilient and equitable systems
